Overview

GYMTIME ("the App") is a screen time management app that blocks distracting apps on your device until you check in at a gym location. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.

We verify gym check-ins fully on device using your precise location. We use RevenueCat for subscriptions and PostHog for product analytics and error monitoring. We don't sell your data. We don't track you across other apps.

What We Collect

Location Data

  • What: Your precise device location when you tap "Check In", and your saved gym location(s).
  • Why: To verify you're physically at your selected gym.
  • How long: Check-in location is used in real time, stays on device, and is never stored on our servers. Saved gym locations are stored locally on your device.
  • Sharing: We do not store your precise check-in location or saved gym coordinates on our servers or share them with third parties.

Device Identifiers

  • What: App instance and device identifiers.
  • Why: To manage your subscription status and provide basic analytics.
  • Sharing: Shared with RevenueCat (our subscription management provider) and PostHog (our analytics provider).

Screen Time Data

  • What: Which apps you've selected to block (stored as Apple's opaque activity selection tokens - we cannot see specific app names).
  • Why: To block and unblock your selected apps.
  • How long: Stored locally on your device only.
  • Sharing: Not shared with any third party. This data never leaves your device.

Usage Analytics

  • What: Basic app interaction events (screens viewed, features used), crash reports, and performance data.
  • Our analytics provider, PostHog, may also process technical metadata associated with app usage, such as IP address, device information, and similar diagnostic or usage data.
  • Why: To understand how people use the app and fix bugs.
  • Sharing: Processed by PostHog for product analytics and diagnostics.
  • How long: Retained by PostHog according to our configured retention settings and PostHog's policies.

Purchase Data

  • What: Subscription status, purchase dates, trial information.
  • Why: To provide premium features.
  • Sharing: Processed by Apple (App Store) and RevenueCat.

What We Do Not Collect

  • Your name, email address, or phone number for app access today.
  • Your contacts, photos, or browsing history.
  • Health or fitness data.
  • Data from the apps you block (we only know you selected them, not what you do in them).
  • Your location in the background for app use today.

Data Storage & Security

  • Gym locations, app selections, and preferences are stored locally on your device.
  • Subscription and transaction data is processed by Apple and RevenueCat. Product analytics and error diagnostics are processed by PostHog.
  • We apply technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect data in transit and at rest.

Data Retention

  • Data stored on your device (like selected blocked-app tokens and gym settings) remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
  • Subscription and transaction-related records are processed by Apple and RevenueCat according to their retention policies.
  • Analytics and diagnostics data is processed by PostHog according to our configured retention settings and PostHog's retention policies.
  • We retain support communications and operational records only as long as reasonably necessary for support, security, legal, and accounting purposes.

Your Rights

  • Delete your data: Data stored on your device is generally removed when you uninstall the app, subject to your device and platform behavior. To request deletion of data handled by our processors (for example, RevenueCat or PostHog records), contact us at the email below.
  • Regional privacy rights: Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data. You may also have the right to data portability or to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
  • Location: You can revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings > GYMTIME.
  • Tracking: We do not track you across third-party apps or websites for advertising.

International Data Transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries outside your country of residence. When this occurs, we rely on contractual, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data, where applicable.

Children's Privacy

GYMTIME is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above.
